FAQs
Where do the animals come from that end up at your rescue?
We try and pull from high kill shelters in the local areas. We get owner turn ins every so often. We also get in strays occasionally that have no identification, we do hold the animal and make an attempt to locate owners before we adopt out the animal.
Where do the animals go once they come into your rescue?
We function solely on foster homes for our animals. We are always in need of more foster families. The more foster families that we have the more homeless animals we can save.
If I adopt from you, what am I provided with for the animal?
Dog: We try to send all of our dogs with a collar and leash, you will also get a copy of the dogs spay/neuter certificate, a copy of vaccination records, all the microchip information, and a copy of rabies certificate if the animal is over 4 months. If the dog came from the shelter we also try to include a copy of the dogs shelter paperwork.
Cat: We try to send our cats with a collar, you will also get a copy of the cats spay/neuter certificate, and a copy of vaccination record and microchip information.
How long do you guys keep the animals?
We are a no kill rescue so we keep them as long as necessary until they find their forever home. We keep them in foster homes until they are adopted, which can take anywhere from 2 weeks to 1 year. Generally our highly adoptable animals are adopted within a few weeks.
What does the Adoption Fee cover?
The adoption fee covers the animals spay/neuter, vaccinations, rabies (over 4 months), microchip, food and general care of the animal before it is adopted out. Your adoption fee also allows us to continue rescuing homeless animals.
Why are the adoption fee's on puppies higher than adults?
We tend to build up vet bills with our older animals, so we try to balance some of the costs by raising our puppy adoption fees. We also occasionally get dogs from the shelters that are really sick and need to be hospitalized this adds up quickly. All the money goes back towards to the care of the animals.
What do the money donations go towards?
All donations go towards extra vet care, grooming, feeding and the general care of all RMR animals.
Do you have a physical location that I can visit?
No we do not have a location like a shelter. But if you are interested in an animal we will set up a meet and greet if it can be arranged with the foster family during the week.
How do I know if the animal is still available?
We try and keep our website updated within 24 hours. Generally if the dog or cat is still listed they are still available. But you can always contact us to be certain that animal is still available.
